Server Monitoring

Our servers are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our monitoring stations are setup to query our servers every 5 minutes and report any problems to our administrators.

Daily Backups

As a value added service for our customers, all data is backed up offsite to our providers' other locations. In the event of data loss, unintentional or accidental, we are able to restore our data from backups.

Cool stuff about our web hosting platform:

  • Enterprise KVM virtualization
  • Scalable resources
  • HA protected compute and storage
  • Fortigate HA firewall protection
  • AlmaLinux 9 with cPanel

We offer website hosting packages to meet the needs of small business to enterprise level.  Custom website hosting packages are available.

  • Custom and Reseller hosting packages are available, starting at $100 / month - please contact us for more details
  • Dedicated IP's available at $15 / month
  • Free Basic SSL's with all domains
  • SSL's available starting at $150 / year

Hosting Provider Infrastructure:

Our providers cloud runs on VMware's Enterprise virtualization platform, utilizing vMotion, VSAN and NSX, ensuring our data is in multiple places at all times, allowing us to overcome the many common single points of failure found in traditional server deployments and allows us to scale our resources as needed.

Our provider is SSAE 18 SOC 2 Type 2 audited and contains HIPAA CSF mappings along with an opinion on the HIPAA security rule.

What is included with NewWard website hosting?

NewWard website hosting is managed hosting, which means we do more than simply provide a place for your website to live.

Your hosting includes:

  • SSL certificate to keep your website secure and enable HTTPS
  • Regular website backups so we have recovery options if something goes wrong
  • WordPress and software updates to help keep your website secure and functioning properly
  • Website monitoring so we can identify many problems before they become bigger issues
  • Technical support from people who actually know your website

When you host with NewWard, you don't have to figure out hosting dashboards, server settings, WordPress updates or technical errors on your own. If there's a problem, you have someone to call.

What type of hosting does NewWard use?

NewWard websites are hosted in a cPanel hosting environment.

cPanel is a widely used hosting management platform that gives us access to the tools needed to manage website files, databases, email settings, backups, domains, security settings, and other technical aspects of your hosting account.

For most clients, you never need to log into cPanel or manage these settings yourself. NewWard handles the technical side of the hosting environment for you.

Does website hosting include my domain name?

No. Your domain name and your website hosting are separate services.

Your domain name is your website address, such as yourbusiness.com, while hosting is the service that keeps your website online.

If you do not already have a domain name, NewWard can help you choose and purchase one. We can also register the domain on your behalf through our GoDaddy account and manage the technical settings for you.

If you already own your domain name, you do not need to transfer it to NewWard in order to host your website with us.

What is an SSL certificate?

An SSL certificate helps protect information sent between your website and its visitors by encrypting that connection.

When SSL is active, your website address begins with https:// and browsers typically display a padlock or other security indicator.

SSL is important for all websites, not just ecommerce sites. It helps protect visitor information, supports browser security standards and is an important part of maintaining a professional, trustworthy website.

SSL is included with NewWard website hosting.

Can I move my existing website to NewWard hosting?

Yes. In most cases, NewWard can move an existing WordPress website to our hosting platform.

We’ll review your current website and hosting setup, handle the migration, and make sure the site is working properly in its new environment.

If your website uses custom software, specialized hosting requirements, or another platform, we’ll let you know what options are available before making any changes.

What should I do if I think my website has been hacked?

Contact NewWard as soon as possible.

Signs of a compromised website can include unexpected content, strange redirects, unfamiliar users, security warnings, spam pages, or changes you didn’t make.

If you notice something suspicious, avoid making major changes, deleting files, or installing additional security software before we’ve had a chance to investigate. Those actions can sometimes make it more difficult to determine what happened.

NewWard will review the website, hosting environment, WordPress installation, plugins, and other potential sources of the problem and determine the appropriate next steps.

If needed, we can also use available backups to help restore your website to a clean version.

What should I do if my website is down?

If your website appears to be down, contact NewWard and let us know what you are seeing.

We’ll check the website, hosting environment, domain settings, SSL, plugins, and other possible causes to determine what is happening and what needs to be fixed.

If possible, send us a screenshot of the error message you are seeing. That can help us diagnose the issue more quickly.

Sometimes a website may appear to be down because of a browser, internet connection, or local network issue, so we may also ask you to try the site from another device or browser.

Why is my website loading slowly?

Website speed can be affected by many things, including large images, videos, plugins, third-party tools, website traffic, browser caching, or even your own internet connection.

Hosting is only one part of website performance.

If your website suddenly seems slower than usual, contact NewWard. We can review the site to determine whether the issue is related to the website itself, the hosting environment, or another service.

We may also recommend changes such as optimizing images, removing unnecessary plugins, or adjusting how certain features load.

Why am I still seeing the old version of my website?

Your web browser saves copies of website files, including images, styles and other content, so websites load faster when you return to them. This is called your browser cache.

Sometimes, after we make changes to your website, your browser may continue showing you the older saved version instead of the newly updated page.

The first thing to try is refreshing the page.

On Windows, press:

  • Ctrl + F5
  • On a Mac, press:
  • Command + Shift + R

This performs a hard refresh and tells your browser to request a fresh copy of the page.

Still seeing the old page?

You may need to clear your browser's cached files.

Google Chrome

  1. Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Go to Privacy and security.
  4. Select Delete browsing data.
  5. Check Cached images and files.
  6. Click Delete data.

You usually do not need to delete your cookies just to see recent website changes. Clearing cookies can sign you out of websites and remove saved site preferences.

Microsoft Edge

Go to Settings ? Privacy, search, and services ? Clear browsing data and clear Cached images and files.

Firefox

Go to Settings ? Privacy & Security ? Cookies and Site Data ? Clear Data and select the cached web content option.

Safari

Go to Safari ? Settings ? Privacy ? Manage Website Data to remove stored website data.

One more quick test

Open your website in a private or incognito window. If you see the updated version there but not in your regular browser window, your browser cache is very likely the culprit.

If you've cleared your cache and are still not seeing the changes we've made, contact NewWard Development and we'll take a look.
